falling in ♥ with h.q

i was being so idle in these past few days, my heart was ever so excited to make something but my mind was holding me back! :/ wanted to do some crafting and to try to quilt but whenever i took out my new quilting notions or whatever... yes whatsoever, even books. after a about a few minutes looking at them, i just put them away. and went back to surfing blogs. i done this a couple of times a day. don't know what gets into me! but i am determined to do something because i feel so unproductive without crafting even in a day! lol. but of course, besides enjoying my little wee time in craft, ashley is always here for me to serve :]

so last night, without pausing, i ironed-on a pattern on a muslin, appliqued a sunbonnet sue pattern with blind stitch, sandwiched it with a batting and running stitch around the applique. and
i l o v e i t
!!

i continued hand quilting the pattern around sue and gosh!! it's hurting! lol! *i'm sorry mr.thimble that i underestimated your power* and another gosh!! because i like it so much! :> not the pricking but hand quilting! the result is so amazing! my stitch is still so far away from standard and need alot of practices but i love it! this is so rejuvenating!lol! painful yet enjoyable!

... and i realised that i need a decent pincushion for my needles. i don't have any, i just use a scrap to piece in my needles & pins. so in the meantime, i just use my yoyo flower to act as one before i make one.

...my fingers are hurting and sored! i'm desperately needing some thimbles! so anyone have any recommendations, brands and sites for good quilting thimbles?? please-please! help me! thanks x 100! :*

(this is so funny because i thought it may look cute with the hearts peg but i have no where to hang it to take a good pic! so i just tape it on the door! :)

she's lovely Esther, congratulations! I know what you mean about hand quilting - any kind of simple sewing is so restful! I have never found it easy to use thimbles but the best I found were a kind of fabric wrap around thing that you could fit to size - I can't cope with a metal one falling off all the time! Lucy

Clover makes a thimble that has no back on it, its kinda like a ring, with a peice that covers the pad of your finger, its all metal. I have longer finger nails and it helps cause the thimble sits where it needs to, I also have found that it dosnt fall off like the others do, and it dosnt get sweaty :) http://www.createforless.com/products/productDetail.asp?ProductID=91088&GCID=C10601x061&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cse
